Can you make it into a ZIP file and e-mail it? ZIP will usually let you compress everything in a folder into a sigle file.
And you could load the compressed file onto one of those things like Sendspace or Megaupload for her to download if it's still too big to e-mail. I haven't used them except as a recipient, but a bunch of other LJers have.
